Deconstructing a dumb joke

Narendra modi & Obama were talking in a bar.

Modi: v r planning to kill 14 crore pakistanis & ☺sunny leone!!

Guy: why Sunny Leone??

Suddenly Modi tells Obama: See I told u nobody would care about 14 crore pakistanis!!!!!!

This was supposed to be a joke. I will excuse the facts that it's not funny and is horribly written. After all, that's how most of the forwarded jokes are. I have at least two other problems.

One, it is most likely a copy of some lazy American racist 'joke' about Mexicans. You see, racist jokes are almost never funny - the only time they are funny is when the people who are made fun of also can find it funny in some way. That's actually a good test for a racist 'joke'. Do you think any Pakistani would find this 'joke' funny? Forget a Pakistani. Would anyone, that is not an Indian, find it funny? I doubt it.

Two, what is it with us Indians that make us so obsessed about Pakistan and its people? I know, I know, 'Hurr Durr Terrrrism!!' It is almost an equally important duty of every patriotic Indian to hate Pakistan as much as you love India (which is rather dumb in itself, but that is for a later time).

That is what makes this worse than the original one about Mexicans. While callous, that is an exaggerated portrayal (caricature) of the average American's indifferent attitude towards Mexicans. There is no further malice. People who laugh at this joke are more than likely to care about Pakistanis dying, in that they will possibly rejoice.
